There was this ridiculous conspiracy floating around shortly after the sinkhole speculating that the whole thing was "faked" with Hot Wheels for some "nefarious" government scheme of some sort.

I think they should leave the really trashed ones. The sinkhole will be part of Corvette lore forever, might as well have it documented.
